Bend, OR, United States
About This Brewery
Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Black Butte Porter. Fresh Squeezed IPA. Obsidian Stout. These beers are almost as legendary as the Pacific Northwest powerhouse that created them. We’re talking, of course, about Deschutes. Founded in 1988 along the banks of the Deschutes River, this Bend-based leviathan is a pillar of North American craft beer. Widely considered one of the best breweries in Oregon, their fans can be found in every corner of the country sipping hopped up award-winning beers like Inversion IPA, or barrel aged masterpieces like The Abyss Imperial Stout and The Dissident Flanders-style Oud Bruin. In fact, any Oregon brewery tour wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Deschutes! Hype: Dozens of medals from World Beer Cup, a trophy case of GABF awards, and a spot as one of Paste Magazine’s Best Breweries of the 2010s!
