SUPERCRUISE: Temp CabFranc
Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales
A Note on This Beer
Pull out your best crystal glassware, craft fans, because today’s Supercruise: Temp Cab Franc Wild Ale will have you inviting all your wine snob buddies over for a drink.
You can finally convince them that beer can drip with elegance as you sip with your pinky out!
This wine-inspired Wild Ale comes from Denver’s Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales who are dedicated to elevating the Sour drinking experience to extravagant new heights. Their expertise shows with a shelf full of GABF trophies and a staggering 4.20 brewery rating on Untappd — that’s higher than Jester King and The Lost Abbey!
You can taste Black Project’s meticulous fermentation and aging processes in every sip of today’s vinous ale: the brewers use juice from fresh Tempranillo and Cab Franc grapes, add their unique golden Sour Ale, and let the blend ferment in Oak Barrels for 5 months.
The result? A tangy, funky Sour Ale with a fruity Cabernet-like punch!
With such an intensive brewing process, new releases don’t come around often — and when they do, they regularly sell out in the taproom in just two hours! So today’s special-edition in the 4.15 average UT-rated Supercruise series is a rare treat for the tastebuds.
Deep aromas of stone fruit swell from the rich, burgundy-red pour. Each sip is awash in fleshy fruit sweetness that is balanced by the tart, tannic body and hints of oak. The funk from the fermentation appears on the end for a dry finish that complements the 6% ABV.
Show your fancy-pants sommelier skills at your next dinner party by making a charcuterie plate to pair with Supercruise. Your wine snob friends will be swirling their glasses, asking you what region of France this sipper came from — just tell them Tavour in a heavy French accent.
