Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery
A Note on This Beer
Inspiration can strike at any moment -- a stroll through the farmers’ market, a walk through the woods, or at dinner with good friends. For the folks at Virginia’s Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery, it was a deck of playing cards that blazed the trail for today’s Something Clever NE-style IPA.
This Citra and Amarillo-loaded juice bomb is our first taste in this “deck” -- Lickinghole is on a mission to craft a whopping 52 different versions, all using different hop varietals and combinations. These dexterous hopheads are making a splash and securing their spot as one of Culture Trip’s Top 10 Breweries in Virginia!
This copper-colored hazy is bursting with mandarin and grapefruit juice flavors. Motueka Hops add a distinctly piney, herbal aroma. A hint of rosemary compliments the boozy 7.5% ABV bite, leaving a pleasant tingle on your tongue.
If you’re lucky enough to make it out to Virginia, take a walk through Lickinghole’s sprawling 290-acres, pluck a few homegrown hops straight from the vine, and then head to the taproom for a pint of Something Clever. Or, snag a can and sit down to a friendly game of poker. Now that’s a clever way to spend the day.
