Electric Siren Double IPA
A Note on This Beer
G’day, mates! Today you’re in for a rare treat. We’re headed on a Hop safari, featuring an elusive beast rarely seen in the States: the Melba Hop. Make like a wallaby and jump in my Land Rover -- we’re going deep into Odd13 Brewing’s Electric Siren DIPA.
Did you catch a whiff of grapefruit and tangerine just now? We must be getting close.
Ahhh, there she is. Ain’t she a beaut? Don’t let the thick haze of this juicy 8% ABV brew cloud your vision, you’ll need your wits about you to sort through the surge of hop flavor to come.
Don’t be shy, take a sip. You might recognize passionfruit, berry, and papaya notes from Galaxy and Mosaic Hops. But that wave of spicy citrus bitterness that rolls through like a dust cloud on the Outback comes from one source: the Melba Hop.
Shh … don’t startle the Melba, this may be your only chance to taste its edgy earthiness. Native to Australia, Melba is a new and rare breed -- and the whole reason this beer was brewed. Odd13 is in the bizzo of hopspotting: their IPAs consistently score 4+ on UT. We’re stoked they had the guts to brave the Outback and bring us this hop rarity.
Well yous, it’s time to jump out of my Rover and into reality. Lucky for you, Odd13 can transport you to the land of the Melba in the safety of your own home -- just grab a few cans of this coldie, call your mates, and throw some shrimp on the barbie. Good on ya!
