Chain of Command
Gun Hill Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
Ten-hut! Waimea, Citra and Mandarina Bavaria Hops are reporting for duty in Gun Hill’s Chain of Command IPA, a no nonsense shot of dankness in the hoppy, small-batch style the brewery is loved for.
What started as an experimental hoppy beer in Gun Hill’s Roll Call Series has moved up the ranks to become an officer of hoppy goodness. First brewed in 2016, Chain-of-Command proved so popular that the brewers decided to bring it back on its own right.
Intensely fruity and resinous in the aroma, the IPA’s flavors offer bitter grapefruit, juicy cantaloupe and touches of mango all standing at attention for an herbaceous dank sipping experience. At 7.5% ABV with a thick mouthfeel, it’s a robust, no-apologies hopbomb.
We like to consider Chain of Command a “Bronx-style” IPA, a hybrid of the West Coast and New England styles. It’s got the bold, in-your-face, resinous attitude of the West Coast and the soft, juicy backbone of New England. You could say it’s nonstop juicy, resinous flavors are like a drill sergeant with a heart of gold.
