Definitely barrel-aged. Comes out strong, like bull! Very malty atop a refined sweetness.
Good scotch flavor. A nice sipper.
Nose of caramel, vanilla & whiskey. Pours dark amber, foamy, but dissipating head. Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel. On the palate, more sweet caramel along w/toffee. The barrel aging definitely adds to the brew; pronounced whiskey & subtle oak character.
Slightly thin, but amazing malty flavor. Pronounced scotch and smoky taste. Straightforward and delicious with a gorgeous mahogany color
Smokey caramel notes wrapped in vanilla, scotch, and malt. Grab a flannel shirt, stoke a fire, pour a glass… you’re welcome.
The high ABV is hidden behind the amazing flavor. Surprisingly smooth
This is what every barrel aged beer should be. Doesn’t overwhelm the beer, not overly boozy and sweet enough without crossing the line.
I downed two in a row. Just so good! Taste the barrel, and it's a very smooth sipper at 10.8%.
I was looking forward to this beer, but I am disappointed. Very thin, seems watered down.
Mahogany pour with massive nose of bourbon, brown sugar, fruitcake, prune and just a whiff of smoke. Taste starts syrupy sweet but ends tasting amazingly similar to an Old Fashioned cocktail. Warming brings out more bourbon and oak notes. Really great!
It was good but pretty standard scotch ale
Warm, almost sweet bourbon, no bite just velvety
Delicious..... glad I have 2 bottles.
Nicely balanced scotch ale.
Caramel and vanilla with whiskey spice. Excellent.
Malty scotchy deliciousness
It was nicely balanced, love the taste of scotch.
Malty dates: quite good
Malty AF. Solid execution. Better than I expected.
Caramel and rich oak
Very good with nice barrel flavor
I think Scotch Ales are super under rated. This one was excellent. Nice and malty, but not thick like a stout. Lighter, Very drinkable, sweet but not sickeningly sweet, tastes of deep Carmel with a nice blast of scotch right at the end. I thought this was excellent.
Loved this scotch ale
Great example of scotch ale. Has good slightly sweet taste that leaves bourbon after flavor.
Perhaps I’m too new to the style, but it just wasn’t for me. I was hoping for something closer to some of the bourbon barrel imperial stouts I’ve tasted.
Wouldn't know this is BA beer. Be careful with this at 10%!
