About This Beer

To craft Yabai Tanuki, the New Hokkaido crew started with a clean, crisp base before powering it up with Hokkaido and jasmine rice for a swig that absolutely glides across the palate. Then they hopped it with Kohia and Galaxy for tropical nuances more vibrant than a Super Star!

Tasting Notes

Every taste takes off with succulent surges of tangy passionfruit, juicy peach, and mellow guava notes. Nuances of bright kiwi, lime, and orange float after before it all lands in a pinch of peppery earth on the Dry Bones… er, bone dry finish.

Nice mild flavor all the way through and this carries a grassy feel from sip to finish which doesn’t always happen. Maybe a bit too bitter at the end.

Like a light and ultra-crisp rice lager, with the floral fruitiness of the hops. Even more lager-like than most cold IPAs. Nuanced and well-balanced in flavor. Light and easily drinkable.

ss. this was a good tasting beer after working on the condo debris after Milton for six hours plus but I’m not sure if I am into this rice beer from Japan.
