A Note on This Beer

Hop Chorus: Citra, Mosaic, and Amarillo Hops sing out in papaya and guava flavors, punctuated by notes of pine and vanilla. A pineapple kush baseline deepens the brew to seriously succulent levels. Melodious Mouthfeel: Flaked oats, flaked rye, and wheat in the base make for a pillowy smooth body!

Nestled away in a residential corner of West Seattle is a tiny little building – the kind of building people would drive right past were it not for two things: the 100-year-old cow statue on top, and the almost 2-year-old brewery inside.

This is Best of Hands Barrelhouse. As The Washington Beer Blog notes, this small-batch brewery flies so under the radar that it’s practically a local neighborhood secret. They also urge craft fans to “put it on your shortlist because it is worth the trip.”

I get it. I live in Seattle, and today’s Wordless Chorus is only the third beer – and the second NEIPA – I’ve managed to get my hands on for Tavour from these underground brewing rock stars!

With every juicy-smooth sip, I sincerely hope it won’t be the last. In the meantime, if you’re reading this, it means you have the chance to taste these rising Pacific Northwest hop masters even before many of my fellow Seattleites.

With Tavour, it's easy to beer it forward! Just head over to Tavour.com/gifts to send a gift box or gift card to the craft beer lover in your life. Cheers!

Very nice NEIPA, with subdued flavors. It does not overpower you with juiciness, or any particular flavor, it is just very enjoyable beer.

Great on the front, but has a sharp pineapple aftertaste that dominates a bit too much on the back.

A nice light, juicy IPA with just enough hop flavor at the end to remind you it’s an IPA

16oz can from Tavour. Dark golden, hazy pour, sparse head, streaky lacing. Light citrusy aroma, orange peel. Citrusy taste with a bitter snap, orange zest, lemon, grapefruit. Bitterness up front settles out. Near juicy.

Complex with a dank finish. It’s good, but I’d bet it would be better if they used words. Everybody knows that the world is full of stupid people. - The Refreshments

Straightforward... Not quite the level of NEIPAs as, well, the North East, but damn solid

First BoHB experience and all I can say is yes please may I have another! This beer was fantastic. Cleanly fermented full of complementary fruit flavors and smooth as butter. This was one of those defining beer experiences that don’t come along often anymore. Everything was just I could have wanted it for this beer.

Front end tropical. Little bit too bitter on the back end. Also got some faint plastic-y flavor.
