Anchorage Brewing Company
A Note on This Beer
It seems like every IPA is dry-hopped these days. But, unless you’re a brewer yourself, you might be wondering what the heck “dry hopping” even means.
Well, I’ll tell you — dry-hopping is when brewers add hops to the beer after fermentation. Because the brewers don’t boil them, strong fruit-forward aromas and flavors are coaxed out without lingering bitterness.
And guess what? Anchorage Brewing dry-hopped today’s Wolfess a whopping six times! Letting the brew settle a bit after each hop addition for full flavor retention, this acclaimed crew stuffed this DIPA with round after round of Motueka, Simcoe, NZ Cascade, Citra, and extra-potent Citra Cryo Hops.
Crack it open, and fresh citrus and pine aromas howl out of the can. Heck, after one sip of all this hoppy goodness, you’ll want to throw your head back and start howling in glee yourself!
That would bother the neighbors though. So, try instead to let the brew linger on your tongue and focus on its robust complexity. Orange citrus greets you up front, followed with backsplashes of lychee and pithy grapefruit. Dewey pine makes for a resinous finish.
Your mouth watering yet? That’s normal. Better grab some extra cans while we’ve got this Wolf out of Alaska!

Outstanding!.... I will absolutely buy more beer from them. The dry-hopping in it was done perfectly for how much was in it
I'm not really an IPA guy however I have been rather impressed with how unique the hop blends are with Anchorage. I really enjoyed this one.
Good hops, slightly tropical.
A great DIPA. Nice aromas. Great drinkability. A very pure herbaceous flavor of pine, almost to the point of being Rosemary. Beautiful citrus aroma similar to satsuma zest.
Anchorage nails everything... wonderful resinous pine sticky sweet with orange and sumpin’ else. So delicious. More anchorage, more...
Anchorage is working it's way onto my short list of favorite breweries. They kill it with their IPA's!
Wish I would have picked up doubles of the Anchorage IPAs. All have been solid.

Solid Anchorage DIPA
A beer worthy of its art. Would drink again.
Only good things from them
Solid DIPA. Anchorage Brewing keeps turning out great beers
Dank but sweet and silky smooth. I’m already an Anchorage fan boy but even this one surprised me with awesomeness.
Wonderfully balanced double ipa and the can art is fantastic
I get the citrusy sweetness up front with a dry piney finish. Tons of flavor as always from an Anchorage IPA!
Juicy but very boozy.
Anchorage is killing some of these IPAs
Incredible & potent
DDH’d 6x means lots of tropical citrus on the nose. It’s hazy and juicy on the front with a dry, hoppy finish. A good brew!
My favorite! So juicy, hazy and yummy
Anchorage always does a lovely job. They are both one of my first and favorite breweries.
