Welcome to the Space Jam
A Note on This Beer
“Everybody get up it’s time to slam now!
We got a real jam going down,
Welcome to the Space Jam!”
I don’t care one bit that 1997’s Space Jam was a total money grab from both Hollywood and the NBA – it worked! And, ultimately, it led to the real reason I’ve got the song on replay today: the PB&J-inspired Berliner Weisse, Welcome to the Space Jam!
My hat goes off to the half-crazed, half-geniuses who decided to team Michael Jordan up with Bugs Bunny. But I’m especially in awe of the masterminds at Celestial Beerworks down in Dallas, Texas for crafting this silky-tart taste of lunchtime heaven.
Those crafty brewers slam-dunked this Berliner Weisse’s tart base with a full, jammy spread – blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, and raspberry! They also added creamy peanut butter and oats to give it a thick mouthfeel, reminiscent of the actual PB&J sammies you pulled out of your Looney Tunes lunchbox back in the day.
Even more impressive, this is the first beer ever from Celestial Beerworks on Tavour, and their small-batch beers NEVER leave the Dallas area! So, unlike that family movie that everyone’s seen, very few have actually gotten a taste of Welcome to the Space Jam.
Time to grab a glass and crank up the ‘90s nostalgia. You know the words:
“It’s your chance, do your dance at the Space Jam!

Not much PB. Very jammy.
16oz can from Tavour. Cloudy ruby colored pour, fizzy pink head. Aroma is peanut butter, light fruity notes. Taste turns over to the jelly, sweet, fruity, tart. Aroma is most like a PB&J sandwich while the taste is almost all jelly.
Raspberry on the nose and up front, but the way the peanut butter comes through at the end is amazing. As someone who eats a lot of PB&J, this delighted me to no end. It’s definitely a jammy experience overall, but imagine if La Croix made a peanut butter flavor — that is how I would describe the way the PB comes through at the end. You swallow a sip and your brain is like “yes that was a good bite of sandwich” but it doesn’t necessarily scream peanut butter flavor. This was as good as it was fun to me!
Not as exciting as I had hoped. Not much of a peanut butter or jelly flavor, all I got from it was a white bread taste.😖
Not much peanut butter flavor but good berry taste!
Sour, jelly first then pb finish, lots of wheat tastes
More fruit than PB. Novelty flavor but good.
Pretty good. Heavy on the berry flavor, light PB aftertaste.
Very good just wish the peanut butter came through
Heavy notes of PB on the nose, but light PB going down as the raspberry flavor kicks in. Wish I got 6 rather than 3!
Interesting PB & J combination.
Wasn't my favorite but good!
Got the fruit and berliner weiss, didnt get the peanut butter
Weird at first, but got better as I drank it. Did not taste the peanut butter in this.
The peanut butter isn't helping
Perfectly fruity with a bit of sour. Not exactly a PB&J feeling tho
It’s good not amazing don’t really get any peanut butter definitely a lot of jelly
I agree with several of the other comments. Great peanut butter scent, but the taste is almost all jelly with no hint of peanut butter unless you smell it first. Was really looking forward to this and ended up being really disappointed
Tons of peanut butter on the nose, but mostly weak fruit when drinking it. Maybe I have been spoiled by other pb&j beers, but this one is just meh. I like the lightness of the Berliner, as it’s not like drinking puréed fruit like with some of the big smoothie beers.
A tasty, interesting beer
Loved this. Only a slight peanut butter taste and the raspberry lingers.
Aroma is raspberry jam and almost a bready malt. In the flavor the peanut butter is kind a hard to find. It does have a nice lingering tart raspberry flavor with that bread quality. No Peanut Butter
It was good, just missing the peanut butter!
No peanut butter flavor at all. The fruit part was good, but calling it PB&J without the PB flavor is a miss.
Good ... once
Fruity jelly flavors that I imagine looked at some peanut butter before going in the tank. Could’ve definitely used more PB flavor if they wanted to live up to their name
Solid PB&J sour
