Weird and Gilly
A Note on This Beer
Even if you can’t live like a rockstar, one sip of Weird and Gilly will make you feel like one. After all, the name comes straight from a David Bowie track.
You might not be Ziggy Stardust jamming out with the Spiders from Mars, but you can still follow “the beer light to guide us.”
Today’s juiced up “beer light” comes from Singlecut Beersmiths. If you haven’t had your mind blown by this crew, it’s likely because you’re not in one of the lucky handful of states where their setlist of 4+ rated hazies can be found. But, they’re pretty much rockstars in the Northeast craft scene, earning shout-outs from Paste Magazine, Hop Culture, and VinePair.
Take a sip of Weird and Gilly, and you’ll understand why they have so many adoring fans.
Flavors of freshly-squeezed orange juice and ripe peaches crowd surf onto the taste buds, building to a crescendo of tropical fruit and zesty citrus. A power ballad of pine swirls around jammy apricot and creamy papaya. The bright flavors disappear behind a pillowy mouthfeel, while a final note of tangerine lingers like a reverb across the tongue.
Alas, you will never get to sit down and grab a beer with Bowie, but thanks to the hop masters at Singlecut, you can put on Ziggy Stardust, crush a few cans of Weird and Gilly, and toast to great beer and the Golden Age of Rock ‘n Roll.
