For Moonlight Meadery’s passionate fans, today’s Mead barrel-aged Virtue meets the gold standard for Cysers!
You heard that right. Virtue is what’s known as a “Cyser,” essentially a blend of Mead and Cider created by co-fermenting honey and apple juices. With bold, distinct flavors of apple and honey, many craft fans are ravenous about the rare style.
For anyone not familiar, you probably couldn’t find a better first dive into Cysers than with Moonlight’s masterful offering. By taking their Cyser and barrel aging it for up to 6 months in their award winning “Utopian” Mead barrels, Virtue piles on the flavor. Hints of vanilla and coconut from the barrel swirl with the oaky characteristics!
The barrel’s notes also blend with the juicy apple and rich, organic honey base, creating a unique flavor profile you’d be hard-pressed to find in any Mead or Cider separately.
It’s almost like taking a long, thoughtful sip of a fine bourbon; but, there’s no whiskey in here! Just pure, honey-drenched apple and charred oak flavors dancing across your taste buds in each luxe taste.
For a complex but delicious foray into something you may have never tried, Virtue calls out to you!
Moonlight Meadery is one of the most awarded Meaderies in the world, most recently winning 5 of a possible 9 medals at the San Diego International beer competition!

Has a bite to it; sort of spicy. Interesting mead.
apple is there but not a true mead flavor in my opinion
