About This Beer
pFriem and their pals from Le Doubblé Troubblé took inspiration from refreshing, Beaujolais wines when they got together to craft this edition of Vinifera Saison. The duo began with pFriem’s rustic Saison base featuring pilsner malt, wheat, and spelt. They infused it with Tettnang Hops, fermented it with Saccharomyces and Brettanomyces yeasts, and allowed it to mature in French oak barrels. Then they refermented the brew on LDT’s Oregon-grown gamay noir grapes until it was crisp and bone dry.
Tasting Notes
Look for vinous aromas and spritzy effervescence in each blush-colored pour. Take a taste, and bright grape skin plus strawberry compote notes should dance across your palate alongside hints of pomegranate, grapefruit zest, and rose. Expect earthier accents to reveal whispers of wet soil and fresh hay before it culminates in a mildly oaky finish.
