Talk about a three cheers kind of moment! On September 9th, 2020, Fair State Brewing Cooperative became the first unionized microbrewery in the US! 

To celebrate this incredible milestone in their journey, Fair State collabed with Schell’s Brewing Company (a union brewery since the 1930s). Together, they created the crisp and tasty Union Lager, perfect for marking this hip-hip-hooray moment! 

To the beerheads in Fair State’s hometown of Minneapolis, this move came as no surprise. As the brewery’s CEO Evan Sallee had to say, “This is one more step to building the business that we have envisioned from the beginning – one where workers and consumers each have a say and stake in the business, working together to build something beautiful and thriving.” 

Union Lager is an excellent mark of a brewery that’s both beautiful and thriving! Existing somewhere between a Helles and a Pils, this Lager has a balanced malt and soft hop-forward flavor that satisfies with each refreshing sip. 

Normally, you’d have to head over to the Minneapolis taproom to grab a growler, but luckily we managed to snag some of this exclusive brew for Tavour. So, wherever you are, you can grab a can or two and toast to this momentous occasion!
