Absolute love - thikkk crazy coco madness
It loses its head faster than a sugar-addled toddler and the lumps of coagulated oil on top could put London’s sewer fatbergs to shame, but you can forgive it all because to flavor is incredible and despite the viscosity and ABV, it’s so drinkable.
Damn good. Incredible body, good barrel presence, just all around tasty!
Another thick coconut stout. Solid.
Huge coconut, borderline too sweet. Not my favorite Anchorage stout but still solid
No falcon sacrificed
Thick, coconut, sweet super thick and delicious
Haven’t had a bad stout from Anchorage
Semi-sweet chocolate. Dark chocolate.
Okay, so to let you know, if you don’t like Dogfish WWS or Dark Lord, you won’t like this. This is like those beers with extra viscosity and some coconut. Base is heavy savory umami, oak and nuttiness from the foeder, booze, plus fresh coconut w/floaties
So much coconut!
Boozy and chocolate
Rich and sweet with perfectly balanced flavors of chocolate and toasted coconut. Doesn’t drink like it’s over 15%. Tastes like dessert.
This is a good sweet stout. It has a good smooth body that’s not too light or heavy and a tasty rich and oakey chocolate and candied coconut flavor.
Anchorage will always be in my heart !!!
There’s very much a bourbon soaked chocolate covered raisin taste. With an imperial stout kick.
Boozy deliciousness. Well blended and very rich
Thankfully I bought 2
Missouri oak is a hell of a thing
This is a very good beer with a great coconut taste. Unfortunately for its review I started tavour by having Ten Years which I gave a 5. This one comes close but not the 5 for ten years.
Coconuts! Super thick and delicious. Definitely a sipper
Nice full mouthfeel, gingerbread cookies vibe and coconut. Top notch stout will not be my last from these guys
Amazingly Good! Very sophisticated and full of flavor and depth.
Much sweeter than expected
I may be one of the few, but I associated the taste and smell of this beer to soy sauce. I had three friends with me when I cracked this one open and we all gagged at the smell and I was a little let down.
I’m sure this is great but my one bottle was bad. It had weird white things floating in it and tasted awful. Something got in that bottle. Whomp whomp
Super thick. Coconut on point. Amazing
Insane! This is like having a nice, buttery, coconutty macaroon mashed down into a motor oil-thick stout base. Easily one of the best of the year for me.
Lots of coconut, smooth drinking. Wish I had more
Not one for a lot of coconut, but this is one of the best stouts I’ve ever had!
Anchorage BBA Stouts are the best.
Delicious caramel toffee perfection
Delicious. It’s nothing short of what I’ve come to expect from Anchorage.
So good, like drinking chocolate coconut syrup
Heavy and delicious toasted coconut and medium silky viscosity
Such a solid beer! I get a lot of oak which balances it out with the coconut
375ml bottle from Tavour. Expensive, but worth it. Black pour, thick, tiny ring of brown head. Roasty aroma, chocolate, light coconut, booze. Sweet, syrupy taste, fudge, booze, trace if coconut. Velvety, full. Succulent. Awesome!
Classic thick, smooth ABC
This had almost no carbonation, any head disappeared almost as quickly as it touched the glass. I liked the flavors but hard to appreciate when it’s flat. A lot of chunky particulate in this one. I was expecting more from my first Anchorage experience, maybe my second bottle will be better. First one, meh! Edit....second one same as the first. This stout and others I have had from Anchorage are trash!
Rich and sweet imperial stout with a syrupy molasses-esque mouthfeel and an abundance of coconut and mellow oak with slight cocoa/coffee-like bitterness with fleeting hints of vanilla and cinnamon; lots of floaties.
Absolutely love this! Thick, sweet and packed with flavors of coconut, chocolate, caramel, light of roasted malt, vanilla and oak. Liquid dessert!
Another Anchorage banger!
Not Anchorage's strongest BA stout of 2020 but it delivers an incredibly rich, oaky and tannic, sweet coconut experience that won't deter even staunch detractors.
Good but very sweet-- wish there was some bourbon barrel to round it out
Lots of coconut
A little too sweet
So much coconut! Love this one
Straight soy sauce
Oooft, this was special. So layered, each sip revealed so much. So much more than your average coconut stout.
Great big taste. Loved the coconut!!!
Coconut is great and well balanced with the oak.
Barrel, toasted coconut, chocolate sauce... divine.
Anchorage delivers again.
Oil slick coconut, sweet
A tad sweet, but still loved this. Coconut floaties for the win!
Solid as they come
Very nice coconut inside
Thick and sweet. Pretty good
Really nice beer, complex with the oak and nilla
Boozy. Got one adjunct.
Wish I had bought more. Too good.
Pure chocolate and coconut. Reminiscent of a coconut dark lord
ABC for the win
Anchorage brewing has done it again!
I could barely drink it. Clearly just not my style given the other rave reviews. Need to know what you’re looking for to enjoy this. Very very very distinct.
Very thick, almost too much coconut, but very drinkable for 15.5
Thick, hearty, toasty, cocoa, coconut
Coconut heavy enough to knock you down
A little sweet for my taste but definitely delivers on the coconut
Just a coconut bomb
Thicker than a bowl of oatmeal. Delicious toasted coconut stout
A little too sweet for me
Coconut for days
My favorite of the Anchorage stouts in 2020. Beat out Blessed by a hair.
Wonderfully boozy dessert stout
Barrel and coconut. Need I say more?
Very sweet chocolate+coconut flavor
Thick and delicious. Adjuncts shine for sure
Hands down one of the best beers I've ever had in life
Thick and silky, full of roasty coconut goodness! 🤤
The only sacrifice was the price point
Coconut for miles
Another great one from Anchorage
Coffee was okay. Coconut meh
Wow. One of the best stouts I’ve had. 10/10 would buy every time I see it. Smooth, rich, bitter, sweet.. it’s got it all. This is amazing.
Real good coconut flavor and coconut stuff floating in glass. Strong stout. Good beer
Liquid Baker’s chocolate with coconut with some coffee like bitterness on the end. Probably the Missouri Oak. It is covered well in this one with the coconut. More complexity breaks trough as it warms.
Flavor consists of raisins and burnt coconuts. Very boozy and delicious!
Another amazing BA stout from Anchorage. huge barrel presence compliment a full-bodied and rich base stout. Coconut is there but not in your face.
Ordered by accident because I hate coconut beers... but Damn. First one I haven’t poured out. This thing is objectively amazing even if I don’t like coconut (but yeah, it’s there). If you like coconut- get this. Period.
Poures a thick, impenetrable black with bold toasted coconut aroma and a few little floaties bobbing around. The coconut doesn't slow down on the palate - massively coconut-forward supported by rich dark chocolate, fudge, molasses, vanilla bourbon and the faintest waft of Vegemite. Elevated sweetness but carried well by the warming 15.5% ABV and smooth full body.
Just another ho-hum marvelous BA Anchorage stout. Coconut swirls around hits of vanilla, oak, and rich milk chocolate. Absolutely fantastic, another home run.
Unique stout with rich and smooth coconut. Nothing was too overpowering here, even the coconut, but that wasn't a bad thing. Great for sipping, letting it mellow and discovering the nuances hidden within. I honestly drank it and was surprised at the ABV.
Loved it. Great blend of fkavirs.
Coconut, chocolate, biscuits, coffee, and soy sauce-like umami flavor. Excellent and decadent pastry stout.
Really nice! This is a sipper at 15.5% but you can’t taste the alcohol. I think the coconut really balances out the flavor. Dark chocolate and smooth.
Maybe @terry709 would prefer a White Claw
Best coconut beer I have ever had.
Another bottle of something I will crave for the rest of my life. A friend asked for a small taste as I was pouring the one bottle that I got from Tavour and immediately said he wanted a whole glass. Sorry buddy I only have the one bottle. He then said I should order more and get each of us a six pack. Maybe we need to schedule a road trip next year to Anchorage and bring home a truckload.
Like pure semi-sweet chocolate syrup, blended with subtle toasted coconut. So thick and hearty. A true dessert in a bottle. The more she warms up, the more nuanced the flavors morph into.
I ended my day the way I begin them - with the smooth taste of coffee and coconut. This beer has made me love stouts. I only wish I grabbed more than 1!
The coconut is great, but I did get a fair amount of umami/soy profile...didn't necessarily hate that, but it was a little different.
Definitely get a bit of soy in the taste but otherwise a very nice brew from the guys at Anchorage!
I was extremely excited to try this beer unfortunately my hopes were let down I was Not happy with this beer at all. I poured two glasses and there were stuff floating all in my beer. However, I still tried it and it was very sour I’m assuming the beer was spoiled.
Oh my! Coconut, coconut, coconut! I’m in Coconut Heaven!
Thick, sweet coconut, roasty....very good
With all the good reviews I can only guess I got a bad bottle. There was absolutely no carbonation and had sediment floating on top. Although the alcohol content kept the beer from being totally spoiled or sour I just couldn’t drink this beer.
This is thick and beautiful!!The depth of flavors just keeps going. It is in the running for my second favorite craft beer!!
The nose was a big punch of chocolate and coconut wrapped around roast and a touch of soy sauce! The taste was dark chocolate, roast and big sweet coconut. Full bodied and a thick and slick feel. Big long finish throughout! Solid 4.5
Solid. Would buy again.
Not as coconut heavy as Blessed, but good nonetheless.
Very complex and well balanced. Dark chocolate, semi sweet chocolate, vanilla, molasses, with a oak and charred coconut taste. The boozy part decreases the sweetness. Very good
Arguably one of if not the best stout I had so far. Very smooth, flavors blend together very well.
coconut and burnt marshmallow goodness
Like chewing wood
Pure coconut & chocolate syrup. So incredibly smooth
Thicc and delicious
Semi oily and like silk lots of coconut, vanilla, coffee. has a middum body And I'm very satisfied with a little bit of woody and grape-like scent because of a little poeder
Sitting on this for 11 months. Glad I finally opened it up. Rich chocolate and barrel aged goodness
Toasted coconut, gets better as it warms up.
