A Note on This Beer
Pondaseta Brewing is one of the coolest Texas breweries you’ve never heard of.
It started when longtime chums Kaleb West and Trever Martin played in a Texas Country music band together, in college. Kaleb wailed on the guitar and Trever dominated the drums, but sadly, the band didn’t make it past their first concert. The two friends parted ways, though they never lost touch.
Then one day, Kaleb called Trever and told him about his plans to move home and open a brewery. With several years of homebrewing under his belt, Trever quickly agreed to join him.
Today, the two are crafting some of the best small-batch brews in the Texas panhandle — heck, maybe even some of the best in all of the Lone Star state!
And, when you snag a refreshing stash of The Mandarinian dry-hopped Pilsner, you’ll be beating more than just the out-of-towners to a taste of Pondaseta’s prowess. You’ll beat most of Texas to the punch, too.
The brewers crafted The Mandarinian with German Pilsner malt and Munich Lager yeast for a wonderfully light and crackery base. Then, they dosed it with a fine-tuned mix of Mandarina Bavaria and Huell Melon Hops for zesty flavors of ripe tangerines, lemongrass, and hints of honeydew.
The clean, easy-drinking mouthfeel makes it even easier to love this beer, and the brewers behind it. But, unless you feel like hunting down some cans around Amarillo and Lubbock, TX, this is the only chance to find out for yourself.
