Evil Twin NYC calls The Great Northern Barrel Aged Series 60 their “longest barrel aged Great Northern Barleywine EVER!”
They composed this brew from Barleywines aged for 55 months in a Taconic Bourbon 5-year “The Forgotten Barrel,” 55 months in a BliS Bourbon Maple Syrup barrel, and 43 months in a Taconic 4 ½ -year barrel.
Tasting Notes
With so many months of maturing in spirit-soaked casks, we’re expecting deep expressions of oaky vanilla and barrel caramel, plus whispers of wood char, in every sip. Smooth mocha and dark fruit notes ought to shine through from the base beer, along with layered hints of maple, cola, and molasses.
