A Note on This Beer
There are a few reasons I love tasting new beers from New York’s Singlecut.
First off, no matter the style, I know it’s going to be good! There’s a reason everyone from Vinepair to Craft Beer & Brewing calls this crew one of the best in the Empire State!
Second, their beers are only available in a handful of states, so getting my hands on a Singlecut brew always feels like a special treat! You all seem to agree — you’ve rated almost every beer from these Big Apple brewers 4+ on Tavour!
And third, they name a lot of their beers after classic rock lyrics, so it gives me an excuse to listen to some tunes. Today, it’s Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks:
“Terry Meets Julie, Waterloo Station, every Friday night.
But I am so lazy, don’t want to wander, I stay at home at night.”
Whether you’re going out to meet that special someone, or you’re staying in for a little solo time, a can or two of this delightfully refreshing Raspberry Berliner Weisse is a worthy companion.
It’s tart and tangy on the front, but still soft and drinkable. The fruity notes from real organic raspberries are balanced and bright, cutting through the lightly sour base beer like a summer sunbeam. A touch of lactose in the brew makes for a smooth finish.
It’s so elegant, you could pair it with a fancy dinner, but still crushable enough to chug down when you’re feeling parched on a hot afternoon.
