A Note on This Beer
Every year, I throw a killer Halloween party with haunted house decor, a gory costume contest, and, of course, lots of booze.
And this year, I’m totally serving today’s Tentacle Juice NE-IPA. Not just because of the awesome name, but because it’s freakin’ PURPLE!
Seriously, pour this brew and your friends might be convinced that it came right out of a witch’s cauldron. But this easy-drinking potion actually hails from one of Food & Wine magazine’s Essential Colorado Breweries: Ursula!
And it’s not a magic spell that gives this NE-IPA its violet hue, it’s an artful infusion of blackberry puree and Butterfly Pea Flower! This edible flower adds the bewitchingly purple color to the pour.
On top of that, the brewers use an enchanting medley of Amarillo, Citra, and Simcoe Hops to add earthy berry and resinous pine notes for a bitter, hoppy bite. The tart puree casts a jammy spell on the finish, disguising the 7.2% ABV.
The best part of today’s hocus pocus brew? The only stash of this limited-release purple elixir leaving the Rocky Mountains is already loaded up on Tavour’s broomstick.
So whether you’re watching scary movies or passing out candy to the neighborhood kiddos, sipping on this spooky-delicious concoction is the perfect way to celebrate Halloween. Stay witchy, craft fans!
