Wow. Great balance of sweet and barrel
Anchorage killing it per usual
Sweet, smooth just a tad to heavy on cinnamon but still great
Haven’t had a bad stout from Anchorage
Almost stout like. Smooth barrel, not too hot. Char, raisins, caramel!
Best beer I’ve ever had.
This might be one of my favorite beers of 2020
Amazing blend of oak forward stouts and BiL
Goodness this is definitely the best BA strong ale I’ve ever had! The nose was sweet bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, subtle coconut, roast, and dark fruits. The taste matched in decadent layers. Full thick body with a slick and chewy feel. No abv presence!
Smooth and sweet, so good
Thick chocolate batter
This is something special. Next level beer.
Hands down the smoothest barleywine I’ve ever had.
Amazing taste, but 50 bucks good? Nah
Awesome beer. One of the best I’ve had in a while. Sipped it over 1-2 hours...
let it sit awhile
This was amazing, for me beers that are barrel aged with a high alcohol content normally have the burn of hard alcohol first then somewhat of a muted flavor afterwards but this was all flavor first with a slight burn of hard alcohol as an after tast. It's easily one of the best beers I've ever drank.
Great brew. Perfect mouthfeel. Sticky sweet and boozy.
Wow. Well worth the money. Just a remarkable bottle. Let it warm and sip slowly.
Waffle cone all day
Dark chocolate , coffee, just delicious
I will have in Ten years again
Thick barleywine. Id say their mix rate of stout - bw would be 80% stout 20% bw. Very smooth.
Absurdly good. Top 10 beer I've had if not top 5 and I've had some dumb beers. This is ADWTD level.
Magnificent blending of beers! Sweet nectar of the gods!
Amazing, so good
Another awesome ABC beer
Heavy cinnamon when new, got better with age. Solid beer from ABC.
Just like every other barrel-aged Anchorage beer, this is fantastic.
You won't find a better barleywine its everything you could hope for and more.
Fantastic beer, but no way is it worth $50
Very nice taste for a Barleywine. I do think the price was a bit steep for the size but I did enjoy!
Too sweet, not enough barrel
This was almost a perfect beer
Damn, keep em coming Gabe! I’ll take this all day.
Another winner from anchorage
Great but not blessed
Pastry goodness, flirts the line with too sweet, it certainly doesn’t drink like a 15%
Anchorage is always killing!
Sweet, oak, caramel, toffee - amazing beer
Damn such a smooth Barleywine.
Smooth caramel and toffee
Caramel, toffee, barrel
Go get some! This brew takes the cake. If you can afford to buy more you should find it and hoard it. The best barrel aged barleywine I’ve ever had. Did I mention that it’s a coconut bomb?!?
Really tasty. Very sweet.
Delicious. Absolutely delicious
Cinnamon was almost overpowering but toned down just enough to still be enjoyable
Give me more Anchorage
Very good beer! Solid, thick. Recommend
Another good one from anchorage it the cinnamon was a bit strong for me
Perfect harmony between BW and IS.
Sweet barleywine on the front end and coconut stout on the mid palate and finish. Pretty wild ride
One of the best barleywines out there! Caramel. Molasses. Raisin. Sweet.
liquid candy bar plus barrel
Great beer for a beautiful brewery. They always knock it out od the park.
Boozy and needed more thickness.
Simply amazing. Balanced. Sweet. Smooth. ISO
One of the most complex and exquisite beers I have ever imbibed.
Nice blend. Unique
This beer is super super tasty. It pours thick, but not syrupy. Furthermore, the beer is sweet, but not cloying. The oak lends a beautiful balance to the adjuncts. For me, this beer is just a tad too dense. I think a slightly thinner body would fatigue my tastebuds less.
Anchorage stouts always deliver and this is no exception
Got mine in the cellar still, but was lucky enough to be there when it was on tap. Both wife and I thought it was right up there with best beers we have ever had!
Flavors seemed a little out of place. Didn’t mesh as well
Probably one of the best beers I've ever had
I didn’t realize it was a barley wine when I bought it, which I don’t like but Anchorage makes such great beer that my rating of this isn’t from the right perspective.
You can barely even tell it's a Barleywine, but in a great way. What a fantastic beer.
Excellent coconut fused into a great ba Barleywine base.
Fantastic.... where do I get more
One of the best BA Barleywines
Really really big
This was honestly the #1 best I've ever have 🔥🤘🏼 Taste absolutely AWESOME!!🔥
Very sweet but extremely complex. Anchorage is killing it.
Great taste Much Wow
A rich dessert.
No single drink should cost close to this much in my mind, I can't justify it. But I'm not rating on price. It's insanely good. Perfect for what I'm looking for in a drink. Like eating a chocolate cake by yourself. Something to be savoured by itself. Delicious.
Delicious! Lots of barrel goodness
The goat is cute. Will drink in 4 years.
Simply amazing. A near perfect beer, worth every penny and a great beer for the aficionado!
Unreal beer! The small hints of coconut and vanilla take this beer to another level! Please keep getting stuff from Anchorage!!!
Don’t know what to say! Deep dark chocolate, raisins, vanilla, coffee...more RIS than barleywine. No head at all. Reminds me of Avery Uncle Jacob...that’s a big compliment.
Insanely good. Every time I take a sip, I taste something different. Incredible depth of flavor, super smooth, one of the best drinks I’ve ever had, period.
If flavor was you goal......then check. If abv was what you needed.....check again. This beer brings more flavor than any 6 pack of microbrew you have in your fridge! Dark, smokey, spiced, and boozy as hell! This beer will not let you down in any category. Anchorage is king! I can say that after almost 60 beers from them. Never hesitate to get any style from this brewery.....they always hit their mark no matter the profile you seek.
I thought this was hands down better then blessed or endless ending. Very complex, dark but stout like flavors.
Sweet at first, but with a woody astringency that balances it well. Definite vanilla and coconut coming through. Another beauty from Anchorage.
Pitch black, head disappears. VERY sweet and mouth-coating. BIG coconut, caramel, vanilla, chocolate brownie, toffee, raisins. boozy but sweetness and adjuncts create a nice balance that hide the ABV. Warming up highlights complexity and keeps the sweetness from being cloying. I’ve never had a beer like this before. It was an experience.
In a word? Amazing. This is a belated check in so I won’t do the flavor profile. Still, I can clearly recall the feeling upon first tasting this. Both my guest and I just looked at each other and said “Wow.” We were struck speechless. I’m not one to rely on superlatives, but let me still say - this is the best bottle of beer I have ever experienced. And while $50 is silly spendy, I’d do it again if I found it at that price.
Super rich. As I got towards the bottom of the glass, it seemed like liquid boozy chocolate. It's definitely something to sit and appreciate.
Very good! Nice 😄😃😀😁
Really great and not too boozy for 15%
This deserves the perfect score. Expensive, but worth every penny.
I've had a LOT of great BA beers. Fremont, trillium, ect. By far the best mouthfeel of any of them. The barleywine lends itself to mouthfeel more than palate as it's more stout forward, huge chocolate, coconut, tiny heat from the cinnamon. The adjuncts were so nuanced and well done. Insane barrel character, and smooth. This beer was heavy. Had it at a bottle share, had all three other guys say it was the best ba beer they'd had.
This is an excellent beer. Great for my first tavour brew. The coconut, bourbon and vanilla are so well balanced. It is very nice to savor over an hour or two.
Black, deep, complex, chewy. A beer with which to contemplate the mysteries of the universe. Also really friggin delicious.
I'm a sucker for anything barrel aged and I love Imperial Stouts & Barleywines. Well this has it all. Possibly my favorite beer..EVER! A two bottle limit at $50.00 each was much harder to swallow than this delicious, smooth, hearty, boozy wonder from Anchorage Brewing Co. I'd buy this time & time again! Anybody have some extras? True bliss!
Sweet and thick. Finish is smooth. Surprisingly not a lot of heat for such a big beer.
Fantastic beer. Complex, rich, great mouthfeel. Coconut floaties!
WoW!!!! just WoW. Loss of words for this one. Can’t even explain. Anchorage you are definitely my 2nd favorite brewery and I only have 1 other and you are creeping on taking over the #1 spot
very nice stout. great flavors
These stout barleywine blends are outstanding. Coconut galore playing nicely with other adjuncts, Robust full mouthfeel, good amount of barrel and heat to cut through sweetness. It’s a sipper and it’s phenomenal. One of my favorite anchorages of the past year.
Amazing. Rich, chocolate, and sweet. Doesn't have the viscosity of a B-Bomb from Fremont but has a full body. It's mellow like a cellared stout. The alcohol is quiet and deceptively strong. One of the best stouts I've ever had.
Mostly barrel with some sweetness. Some coconut, vanilla and cinnamon notes as it warms up.
Straight up Heaven ... wish I had gotten two
One of my favourites this year. So good and complex
what an amazing beer. buy it if you have a chance.
one of the best beers out! ages well and flavors always pop. no complaints.
Probably the most restrained an adjunct rich pastry wine could be without being sugar sludge.
So smooth, perfect notes of coconut and bourbon. I wish I had more!!
I’ve never had Barley Wine before, and I never will again. That was terrible. Tasted like soy sauce. Waste of money!
probably my favorite barleywine they've released that's easy to get
Rich thick & smooth. Great barrel aged brew.
If I could rate this 10 out of 5 I would. Its that good.
coconut, vanilla, well balanced barleywine sweetness
thick, smooth, perfect
cinnamon is interesting in this
a bit of a mess in my opinion, adjuncts not needed.
prefer without the coconut.
Very good taste but a lot of sediment.
Great blend. I got meaty notes but in a really good way.
Barrel and thick body
beautifully complex. I wish I had more.
Best beer in this class that I’ve ever tried.
