Smooth dessert beer
Chocolate, definitely coconut on the nose and palate
A very nice pastry stout! Chocolate & just enough coconut...sweet at times. Very tasty!
German chocolate cake all the way!
Lots of coconut flavor!
Definitely tastes like German chocolate
Very good. Smooth chocolate and coconut.
Very good, smooth.
I think it’s the perfect balance between chocolate and coconut.
I really wanted to like this beer. I like everything about it except the coconut. The coconut taste fake/unnatural and unnaturally sweet to me. The more I drank, the more that coconut flavor became more prominent. If you love coconut you’ll probably like this beer.
If you’ve ever read the book this character was taken from, it’s a series of vile tales filled with blood and pain designed to terrorize German children into a moral life. I really hated it as a kid, which is the opposite of how I felt about this beer—sweet, delightful, and with an ABV that prepped me to throw my morality out the window. Maybe if I hadn’t read Struwwelpeter as a kid I wouldn’t need to drink so much, but now that I am an adult who does, I am glad this Struwwelpeter is here for me.
Just like a slice of german chocolate cake
Faint cacao and coconut nose is complemented by much richer flavor. Finish is a little syrupy sweet for me. Solid dessert beer for sharing.🍻
Drinkable overall but too lacking in body to be rich enough to really scratch the pastry stout itch.
Fantastic! Thinner than I expected, but tastes like chocolate cake!
Good but thin for a stout
Coconut is the most distinctive flavor. Chocolate is present but well behind the coconut. Balance is a little off.
Does taste like German Chocolate, but could be a little more smooth
