A Note on This Beer
We snatched up today’s juicy pineapple-like Strong Arm IPA straight from the New England hazy zone! Rochester, New York’s Three Heads makes some killer tropical fruity IPAs, but this one is so popular locally, taps run dry constantly. The smoothie-operator brewers told us: “We just can’t make enough!!!”
Three Heads adds lactose, wheat and oats for a juicy soft mouthfeel -- it’s like they were born to play the hazy game. Hopheads are flocking to Untappd to sing this IPA’s praises, rating it a 4.04 with fans like @Alex S. saying “Absolutely amazing take on the NEIPA style by 3 Heads. Super citrusy, fruity, and smooth while still having a hop bite.”
That bite he’s talking about: it’s more like a love nibble. Juicy melon notes glide through each sip and earthy undertones mean it’s fruity without going too sweet. Hints of pineapple jam and tangerine burst through the velvety body from the addition of Mosaic, Citra, Azacca Hops in the boil and dry hop. Hints of grapefruit pith and orange peel resin add complexity to this juicy juice.
For Three Heads, brewing up hoppy hits is the name of the game, with call-outs from Draft Mag, CraftBeer.com, and All About Beer. Strong Arm has locals mobbing the brewery for what many are calling the best Three Heads beer yet -- swoop on our Tavour stash so you’re not left wondering if they still have some on tap.
