Heads up Revolution fans and Barleywine stans — you’ve got one last shot at this year’s vintage of Strawberry Jacket!

And according to lucky tasters on Untappd, this is the best it’s ever been!

To craft it, the Windy City legends started with a blend of English-style Barleywines aged in bourbon barrels. Then they conditioned the mix on fresh strawberries for a sensationally jammy accent.

Anticipate every pour to perfume the air with sumptuous aromas of ripe berries and vanilla oak. On the sip, look for crème brûlée tones to mingle with sweet summer fruit before rich date and raisin notes take over on a dry, caramel-kissed finish.

The last time we had this treat, you all called it “one of the best Barleywines I’ve ever had,” “sooooooo good,” and “just about the greatest thing EVER!”

Smells deliciously sweet and tart like fresh strawberries. Medium-bodied, with a sweet malt-heavy taste accentuated by the bourbon barrel age-ing. the strawberries are very subtle and are most noticeable in the aftertaste. I really like this one.

Well, GODDAMN! This is just about the greatest thing (high abv fruit beer) ever! ABV is completely unnoticeable. 🍓 on creme brulee? Absolutely! The only reason this does not get 5 stars is that the strawberry flavor is a bit (at first, and then by the end, totally) overpowering. Im interested to let this sit for some months and see what happens, but it probly wont last becus it is delicious and strong.

I really like Barleywine but thought with the strawberry’s it had a hint cough syrup flavor. Respect to the idea not sure flavors were balanced enough to pull off this style.

Pops with berry behind the strong barre aging and barley wine. while the strawberry wasn’t the first impression it was there. A lunch beer for when you don’t need or want to go back to work that day. The depth of wood aging and Carmel notes made the difference for me.
