A Note on This Beer
100% Rare Hops: This single-hop hazy is loaded with Citra, Idaho 7, and tons of Strata Hops! This new variety was developed at the University of Oregon and released just last year. Almost Tastes Illegal: The hop growers at Crosby Farms describe the flavor as ‘passionfruit meets pot.’ And that is shockingly accurate, but you’ll also find notes of peach, mango, and bright citrus.
Today’s Strata Swerve IPA is a jewel of a brew, and it must be an emerald, because it smells delightfully green — like a dime bag you might score in the parking lot at a Grateful Dead concert.
And the source of all that dankness is a massive dose of Strata Hops!
Levante was among the first in the Northeast to brew with Strata, and we knew they’d create something beautiful. After all, this is the Pennsylvania brewery that beat out Other Half and Tired Hands in Hop Culture’s Blind Tasting!
The juice Levante squeezes from these rarely seen hops leaves no doubt about their hazy mastery. It tastes like a tropical smoothie, but with a twist of dank greenery that will make your wacky neighbor envious. You know, the one with the lava lamp and all the blacklight posters.
And if you set that weird neighbor up with a can of this super-dank brew, they might just hook you up with something green of their own. Not that we’re implying anything.
