A Note on This Beer
Here’s a confession for you: I grew up wanting to be James Bond — classy suits, awesome gadgets, fancy cars, and access to the coolest secrets in the world!
Turns out I prefer drinking beer over martinis and I’m not British — so no 007 life for me. But today’s Sour Golden Ale from Denver’s elusive Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales is so complex that even Bond himself would order it over vodka.
This brand new Tavour brewery is so focused on precision and quality that most of their creations don’t even leave the taproom. But like a Bond car full of surprises, these guys are loaded up with GABF Medals, a spot as one of Craft Beer & Brewing’s Top Breweries, and a higher brewery rating than Jester King, Funkwerks and Crooked Stave!
Those lucky enough to have tasted Stargate: Nectarines gave it a whopping 4.45 UT-rating — so I put on my best disguise and hijacked a small stash. Tavour’s the only way you can get this elegant 6.8% ABV brew outside of Denver!
Time to don your best tux and jet over to the next bottle share with class. The hard-to-get Stargate just upped your allure from Austin Powers to Sean Connery!
Pour this refreshing Sour Golden Ale into a glass — neither shaken, nor stirred — and you’ll be holding enough liquid gold to drive a Bond villain insane.
Sip it while marathoning your favorite spy flicks, and it almost feels like you’re the one zipping across Europe in an Aston Martin.
Strap in for a thunderball of stonefruit flavor; there are over 4 lbs. of whole ripe nectarines per gallon in Stargate, aged in Bourbon Barrels. Each sip coats the palate in juicy nectarine and peach, tangy apricot, fresh lemon and touches of marmalade and oak.
But you’ll have to grab your bottles quicker than Bond can draw a gun. This brew’s gonna go fast!
Rated 4.45 on Untappd!
*While you can definitely add Stargate: Nectarines to your cellar collection, the top agents at Black Project recommend trying at least one bottle fresh.
