About This Beer
To craft this unique treat, the Stout specialists at Cellarmaker aged a rich Barleywine in ex-Spanish sherry Highland Park scotch barrels for a dynamic dark beer. And they brewed the base with almost 90% Scottish malted barley from Simpson’s Malts — one of the key ingredients in Highland Park’s whiskey!
Tasting Notes
You can anticipate decadent nuances of brittle toffee, caramelly date, and rum-soaked raisin to course through every chewy quaff. Brûléed sugar and vanilla oak tones combine with rich peat notes for a sumptuous, campfire finish — the only real hint of the 14.5% ABV!

Can smell & taste the scotch barrel up front: very peaty and
an interesting twist on a barleywine!

Very nice texture with notes of roasted vanilla. A little sweet towards the end but not overwhelming. A nice brew to sit by a fire with.
