A Note on This Beer

Alright, all you exclusivity-loving, rare-find craving, one-of-a-kind brew hunting craft fans...this one’s for you. Sori Brewing only released a single barrel of today’s rich Imperial Stout. One barrel! One!

And typically, you can’t even find it on this continent.

Thaaaat’s right. Sori is all the way over in Estonia — and we’re the only ones in the U.S. to get our hands on some of their liquid magic!

To craft this rare gem, the creative team packed their deep, creamy Stout base with rich dark chocolate and tangy Valencia oranges. Then they loaded it into a bourbon barrel to soak up all that woody spice and oaky vanilla flavor.

The resulting 13.2% ABV brew has fans calling it (in Dutch) “delightful,” “zippy,” and “fresh!”

Now’s your chance to elevate your cellar with this uber-exclusive Imperial Stout!

tastes like the not so great parts of Tallinn. there are excellent parts (food and beer) but this is not it. too much orange that does resemble the taste of what you’d imagine h2orange would taste like

I think the stout base was good but I couldn’t get past the orange. it was too over powering.

Tastes like a window cleaner. The orange flavor is awful. Sadly, one of the worst beers I think I’ve ever tasted, likely going to end up dumping it.

The Tavour description makes you think this will be a lux orange milk chocolate delight. the label notes cacao nibs and orange, which could be any sort of generic flavoring. Cacao nibs usually add a chocolate liqueur flavor, but it’s not quite vibing here. it really does come off like orange-sol cleaner. At $12 a 12 oz bottle, I am highly disappointed. I’m not drain pouring at that price, so I guess we’ll see what time does to it. It is no Pohjala, and I’m “sori” I bought 6 of these.

very difficult to get past the nose feel. overpowering artificial orange flavor takes over. managed to get a couple sips in, tastes like what I expect cleaner to taste like

Wondering if someone pranked me: No chocolate, no orange, no bourbon. Just licorice for days, then some awful chemical taste. This stuff is like a mix of pastis and Lysol. An expensive drain pour.

Orange flavor is off. Bottle shows it was best by June 2020.

The smell is immediately off-putting, similar to windex. You get hints of orange but it’s like an orange doused in motor oil. The taste is not smooth, with a bitterness of too many cocoa nibs added in the brew and a taste as if motor oil was thrown in there for good measure. I’d avoid this at all costs

Very pungent aromas — orange foremost. Quite effervescent, too rather thin for a stout as well. Still quite tasty.

Valencia oranges are very forward. The stout is not very thick and the chocolate is appropriately subtle.
