Alesong Brewing and Blending
A Note on This Beer
Today, I’m trusting you with a very special beer.
And, I need you to promise me that if you’re going to indulge in Alesong’s Bourbon & Tequila Barrel-Aged Señor Rhino, you’ll only do so if you can appreciate the work of art that it is:
- The brewers craft this Mexican Hot Chocolate Stout with loads of vanilla, cacao nibs, ancho chiles, and cinnamon, so it oozes with smooth waves of sweet and spiced cocoa.
- Aging in Heaven Hill Bourbon and Cazadores Tequila Barrels brings out nuances of whiskey caramel and smokiness to every sip.
- Its chocolatey layers of cocoa, vanilla sweetness, and burnt caramel married with tender ancho chile heat make it a top-tier celebration beer, all around.
And, one more thing — if you have tasted this massive 4.46 UT-rated treat, then please share your bottle with at least one other Stout fanatic.
I’m asking for your cooperation today because I want as many craft enthusiasts as possible to try it. To a beer geek, there’s no grander gesture than sharing a rare treasure such as this.

Very nice blend of vanilla and chile. The smooth and spicy was evident from start to finish. Could even have been tastier had the flavors been more forward, but that is a minor issue with a great beer.
I wanted to like this even more but it was missing something
Amazing brew. Just a little sweet but amazing still.
Excellent cinnamon and cocoa notes with no noticeable ancho flavor
Disappointing - just cinnamon over powering everything else, a little tequila no spice
I loved this. Luxurious flavors to sip on slowly. Just enough booze to warm your belly.
Lots of cinnamon and a nice amount of heat at the back.
This was complex, dark, and spicy. Great combo of flavors.
Chili isn’t my thing
B-b-b-b-boozey. That’s good. Just enough heat to feel it but not overpower. The cinnamon and vanilla mix well. Love the Mexican hot chocolatey goodness. I’ll take another please!
Love the tequila notes. The barrel actuates the base so well. Highly recommended
Tequila barrel and chili’s complement each other well. Adds a balanced fig like sugar sweetness. Mouthfeel a bit light but doesn’t impact flavor. Solid.
Like cake, this is so freaking good
Solid, smooth throughout without any flavor profile consuming the other.
It was subtle and well layered but mouthfeel was lighter than I was expecting.
Chocolate and cinnamon aged in bourbon and tequila barrels?? Hell yes! Delicious!
This was surprisingly great. The vanilla, cocoa flavors up front with the cinnamon and spice kick at the end were a nice combo.
Subtle spices and a thin body.
So good. Definitely a Mexican chocolate cinnamon flavor blends nicely with the subtle coffee flavors.
thinner body but well balanced bourbon BA and tequila BA that adds just a touch of sweetness - cinnamon and chili peppers work well too.
Nice balance and tasty Mexican flavors, and the right amount of spicy heat. My only negative is that the texture is rather thin. Very well done otherwise.
Maybe it’s just my limited taste but I am missing the many flavors
I can only assume the flavors I can’t put my finger on is the tequila. Quite a bit of spice at the end, but really good. It tastes like someone who made this beer loves to make beer. Really good!
The cinnamon, cocoa, and ancho really come through
Love this mouth candy - nice blend of flavors with a bit of zing!
This is by far my favorite beer of all time now
I’d do it again
Slightly thinner body, but all the flavor. Very drinkable for 11%. Well done
This mouth bomb scores on all levels! The only reason it didn't get a full 5 stars is it could be a tad thicker. Other than that its freaking delicious and I luv the spicy aftertaste. Like pumpkin pie w Tabasco chocolate sauce!
A minor tequila sweetness while drinking, but finishes really nicely with a cinnamon kick.
Man this is tasty, great purchase, glad I did.
The Depth to this Beer is astounding! It progresses through the flavors with each sip and is definitely on the find again list for us!
One of the best stouts I’ve ever had. Super smooth and enough chocolate.
Love this, much better than mocha.
Sublime flavors and not overly sweet. Well balanced. Yum!
Very good beer, all the notes hit without overpowering each other
Cant tell if I got an off bottle or if I was just thrown off of the long stringy worm looking thing that poured out with my beer that I’m going to assume was yeast... Tried to enjoy it after that but it honestly tasted flat with no character. Okay at best
Nice spices! Not bad mouthfeel on this one, not very thick but still a good body.
Nearly perfect for me. Definite tequila on the nose. Chocolate not too strong. It mixed well with the cinnamon. In terms of heat, very subtle. Wished for maybe a tad more heat?
