A Note on This Beer

If I could install a salted caramel fondue fountain in my living room, I totally would. But I can’t, because I’d for sure get ants. And, it’s probably really hard to get ants out of a caramel fountain.

Luckily I’ve got a crafty secret weapon that positively drips in gooey-sweet deliciousness: today’s Salted Caramel Porter from Cascade Lakes Brewing!

These guys are so beloved in Oregon that they had to open a second location in Bend just to keep up with demand. And today’s limited seasonal release is one of their most sought after brews.

It has all that chewy, caramel-icious flavor I crave, but it’s even better than a fondue fountain because it comes with a savorable 5.8% ABV. And it’s in a bottle, which means it’s totally safe from ants.

Not that I can blame anyone — even insects — for wanting a sip of this decadent caramel creation. Aromas of gooey toffee combine with milk chocolate and a hint of vanilla in every sip.

It’s like biting into a cakey, chocolate donut with a drippy salted caramel glaze. Yum!

So, if you can’t turn your living room into a crazy caramel-coated confectionery, don’t worry. With a couple of cans of Salted Caramel Porter in the fridge, you can lounge in chocolate and caramel satisfaction anytime you want.

Just try not to spill any. Because that’s how you get ants.

Sweet caramel with slight saltiness followed by semi sweet chocolate. Medium/light body.

This one needs to be served specifically between 50-55 degrees for max flavor...I didn't do that... aromatics of gooey toffee and fresh coffee ... bittersweet chocolate and vanilla bean across the palate!... this one is truly a decent treat that I enjoyed, but I'm not detecting salt or caramel at all.. maybe the serving temperature really did need to be adhered to? Lol 3/5 stars ⭐⭐⭐
