Saison Americaine - Batch #5
Jester King Brewery
A Note on This Beer
When it comes to tart and funky brews, Texas’s Jester King is in a league all their own — they introduced the Farmhouse Ale style to American craft a decade ago. That’s why Paste Mag named them one the Top 5 Breweries of the 2010s!
See, Jester King believes a Saison should be a reflection of where it’s brewed. It’s all about wild yeasts, local ingredients, and, of course, the people who drink it. And in The Lonestar State, that means making something bold enough to satisfy a Texas-sized thirst: Saison Americaine.
To create it, the brewers fermented this brew in oak foudres with wild yeast to crank up the tartness and create waves of gently puckering acidity. Texas-grown wheat and barley lend the brew a biscuity character that balances notes of lemony tang and wild funk, while the 5.2% ABV keeps it crushable all day long.
With its hyper-local ingredients, Saison Americaine truly encapsulates the place it was made and the people who love it.
So if you’re a fan of Sours, Wild Ales, or just great American craft, this Saison is a must try.

Great example of a saison
This saison imparts delicate tartness, notes of oak, earthy maitake mushrooms and wild cultures and bacteria! It may not sound like a beginner's beer but in the saison realm, this one is delicious and friendly! Cellared mine for two years at 55deg to temper the bottles conditioning. Worth the wait! Jester king always provides challenge! 👍🍻😃 ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫
