RYSTE RYSTE - Blood Orange, Cherry
Evil Twin Brewing NYC
A Note on This Beer
I’m pretty sure Jeppe — the legendary founder and head brewer at Evil Twin — is just messing with us for fun, at this point.
For example: today we have a brand new brew from his Milkshake IPA series, RYSTE RYSTE - Blood Orange, Cherry.
Jeppe and his team made it unbelievably fruity with plenty of actual blood oranges and a pile of sweet cherries, while a hefty dose of vanilla and a bit of milk sugar give it a creamy streak — like a real milkshake. A massive dry-hopping of super juicy Comet hops leaves enough piney and resinous notes on the finish to remind you that it’s a 7.5% ABV IPA.
I’ll bet a whole lot of you milkshake marauding hop hounds will want a sip of this bad boy!
But, that’s the part where I feel like Jeppe might be toying with us — he only sent us 20 cases of this creamy, fruity, hoppy beast! That’s not going to be anywhere close to enough.
I know the batch sizes are small, and NYC’s thirsty hopheads need their cans, too. But, there are going to be a whole lot of disappointed Tavoursters when this one runs out.

I tasted all the flavors noted. I would buy again.
Milkshake all day
best milkshake ipa ive tried
Very flavorful, very smoothie like, with like a hint of IPA
Loved this!! Not too sweet. Delish!
Cherry pie baby
Perfect balance of fruity, hoppy, and creamy.
Thicker than expected, super fruity
Had an odd aftertaste and seemed too thin.
Super super tasty, but definitely not an IPA. Don’t even know what category I’d put this in-it’s like a smoothie sour, without the sour. Fantastic flavor, incredibly sweet.
Unique amazing taste...doesn’t taste like an IPA but gladly would like another just not back to back!
Extremely balanced and delicious. Was glad it didn’t get too heavy considering it’s a milkshake IPA.
Not sure if I'd label this as a Milkshake IPA. But it was really good. At first all I could taste was the bitter from the orange and tartness from the cherries. After it lost some of its chill, the blood orange flavor really popped.. After that, it was a perfect blend of both flavors.
Wowza! A kick in your taste buds! Solid blood orange and cherry notes. Some tartness and smoothness. Loving that lactose! At least my taste buds are! Not so much my guts... Hahah
Really pleasantly surprised at the depth. This place just turns out quality always.
