A Note on This Beer
Today’s 4.21 UT-rated, 4x Dry-Hopped Fatamorgana from Omnipollo is so ludicrously hopped up, it’s got me seeing mirages.
I mean, they dry-hopped this beast FOUR TIMES! That must be why the brewers at Sweden’s Omnipollo named it after ‘fata morgana’ — the optical illusion that makes ships far out at sea appear to float above the water on a shimmering haze.
But with this stuff, I’m seeing a lot more than just levitating boats. If you’re looking for a hazy brew that’s absolutely crammed full of hoppy flavor, look no further. Just don’t be surprised if you take a sip and start seeing things, too.
Just one taste, and a basket of bouncing lemons appears on the horizon. No doubt this vision was brought on by four separate additions of Centennial Hops!
Another gulp and a gaggle of grapefruits materialize out of no where and start rolling down the street in front of me, followed by a mess of mandarins and a legion of lychee. I’m pretty sure that delusion is from the piles and piles of Citra Hops.
One more swig and a dank papaya saunters around the corner, casually comments on the weather and wanders off again. Gotta be because of the massive amounts of Columbus Hops in this brew.
Leave it to the hop-crazed brewers at Omnipollo to create a Hazy IPA so hoppy that it’ll actually make you see herds of galloping fruit! These guys even made Food and Wine’s list of Europe’s Most Important Craft Breweries, and their crazy Hazy brews were featured on Huffington Post’s list of 30 IPAs You Need to Drink Before You Die.
Try a sip and I suspect you’ll see a few things, just like me. At the very least you’ll have stars dancing in front of your eyes from this delicious wallop of hops. Share a can with a few friends and you can all take this hoppy vision quest together!
*Don’t worry! This beer won’t actually make you hallucinate. I promise.
