Fifth Hammer Brewing earned a spot on BeerAdvocate’s Top 50 Best New Breweries only six months after opening. But, co-founder and head brewer Chris Cuzme was no stranger to crafting acclaimed beers — his career spans more than a decade of commercial brewing in NYC’s craft-soaked scene!

Now that he’s in charge of Fifth Hammer, though, Chris is creating brews “with complete freedom.” That means, he’s crafting giant Imperial IPAs that don’t hold anything back! 

Today’s Pyrotechnic Weekend Imperial Hazy hopbomb explodes with creamy papaya, juicy mandarin orange, and bursting blueberry flavor, with a hint of bittersweet citrus pith on the finish. Chris and his crew also added Pilsner malts and oats for an ultra lush softness, and amped up the ABV to 8.5%!

As Chris likes to say, Pyrotechnic will hit “all the right notes” for IPA drinkers who love the fresh, tropical flair of Motueka and Mosaic Hops — which the crew magnifies with a generous double-dry hopping. 

It’s the kind of NEIPA to crack open after a long 9-5, so the juicy flavor and big ABV can melt away all those weekday worries.
