Even for a brewery like River Styx (who have their own Stout fest to celebrate their 8 annual Stout releases), Prometheus is a standout example of dark beer mastery. Loaded with chocolate malt, hazelnut, and vanilla, every sip contains Olympian levels of opulent flavor.

Tasting Notes

Like a vanilla lathered Nutella crunch bar, this opulent dessert boasts Dionysian levels of decadence!

As each sip washes over the palate, hints of the hazelnut swirl with a chocolatey bite. Then, the vanilla covers the palate with joyous sweetness. Its velvety touch lingers through the finish, with that tongue tingling 12% ABV barely making itself known.

Downright delicious! River Styx got added to my bucket list of breweries to visit with this offering. Creamy, smooth, roasty, and vanilla sweetness that gets pushed to the side by bitter cocoa. I don’t pick up much coconut or hazelnut.

Wonderful. I like Dark beers but this one threw me for a loop! I was surprised that it was kinda sweet and a bit tangy in the aftertaste. Definitely liked that. would recommend.

Bitter…sorry but could not taste coconut or hazelnut or vanilla. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

unfortunately the can I got was infected and turned. I still have a can left, as long as it didn’t turn, I’ll adjust my ranking accordingly, however at this point it remains low
