A Note on This Beer
If you did a double-take when you saw the can for P-Nut Butter Breakdown, you’re not alone — the can art features the REAL Skippy peanut butter label!
In order to snag the rights to this sensational snack food, the GABF gold-medal winners at Central Coast Brewing struck a bargain: they’d only use Skippy in the beer, as long as they could use the label. The Skippy execs took one taste of this mouthwatering Stout and said, “Done and DONE.”
Along with plenty of creamy peanut butter, CCB crafted this brew with 2-row, Crystal, Carafa, and Chocolate Malts, as well as rolled oats and roasted barley.
It teases the nose with flourishes toasted nuts and bruléed sugar
. Waves of rich, dark chocolate and freshly roasted coffee rise to the surface as it warms, along with lingering notes of gooey caramel and chewy toffee.
The original, draft-only version was such a huge hit, they had to put it in cans. Now, it’s one of the most-loved beers in the brewery’s San Luis Obisbo taproom — and it’s back on Tavour by popular demand!
Fact is, their brews almost never leave California. So, if you wanna be one of the only folks outside the Golden State to try this coveted creation, this is your shot!
Central Coast’s owner, George Peterson, loves to be involved in the community — he turned an old Mercedes into a beer truck, and uses it to pour beer at weddings and events!
