Orange Giant Barleywine
A Note on This Beer
Aged 12 months in 12-year-old bourbon barrels, Ecliptic Brewing’s 13.8% ABV Bourbon Barrel Aged Orange Giant Barleywine evokes the citrus-caramel spirit of an Old Fashioned cocktail in beer form.
Ecliptic infuses top-shelf whiskey vanilla notes into this Barleywines dark fruit booze and orange-zesty hop character. Last year’s vintage was a hit with barrel fans in the community, scoring it a 4.16 on Untappd!
With a fierce display of grapefruit resin and Madagascar vanilla aromas, Orange Giant flourishes with scents of small-batch whiskey. Then a flood of flavor unravels itself upon the tongue -- lemon peels, cardamom, even hints of coconut emerge from the boozy depths. Those hit of citrusy hops kick ya in the finish like a toasted orange peel in an Old Fashioned, gracefully exiting with a singe of booze.
Available ONLY in Oregon last year, Barrel Aged Orange Giant is a rare oak soaked treat for any booze fan. Those lucky Tavour drinkers who tasted it last time gave it a 4.05 score. Skip the cocktail bar and serve yourself a tulip glass of this booze king in your own home.
