Opaque Thoughts - Orange Creamsicle

The initial taste is like mandarin oranges very light and kind of tangy on the first sip, but the after taste is like something out of hell. The after taste is awful and very citrus like with no creamsicle flavor
I enjoyed it. Yes, a little sour and not really creamsicle but hey, orange juice beer? Yum!
mmmmm…tastes like a sweet, creamy glass of OJ
Tastes more like and orange juice beer than a creamsicle milkshake IPA. Not bad but disappointing.
I absolutely love Mountains Walking and have been particularly enjoying the Opaque Thoughts series as I have been exploring milkshake IPAs. Mountains Walking really do something magical with the beers they craft. All that being said, this Orange Creamsicle was not my favorite. I feel like it was just a little bit too “tangy” for lack of a better term. I feel this beer embodies the same complexity that the Opaque Thoughts series is known for. It is just this one little thing about this one I don’t love. Nonetheless, I still anxiously await the next Opaque Thoughts version offered on Tavour until I can make it back to Bozeman again.
Good Word Brewing & Public House. Hazy murk, aromas of citrusy tropical fruits, Vanilla, and rind, thick, juicy, big Orangey & Grapefruit, pithy astringency, Milk Sugar sweetness, and complimentary Vanilla.
I like flecks. I’m talking the flecks in foods and drinks that contain vanilla and show the true vanilla bean. Flecks are visible here, as is the obvious syrupy milky nectar of orange. It’s a true creamsicle with biting hops too. Maybe just a touch too much of a good thing in the sweetness and vanilla punch, but also very much as advertised in a milkshakecreamsicle IPA.
Didn't really taste much like a milkshake IPA, more like a juice bomb berliner.. still a decent beer
VERY sharp orange flavor. I would have like more vanilla flavor to make it more like a creamsicle. nice thick mouthfeel.
Aggressively orange, almost a pith-like chewy bitterness, sweet and creamy vanilla kicks in toward the end, but the tart bitters are hard to get around.
Yesss! It’s got vanilla and orange notes! Love this one!
it’s like orangina and heady topper. delicious hops and orange juice. thank you bozeman!
tart, tastes more like grapefruit than orange.
wow I like the taste of dream and then comes what I love is the tasty happy flavor that comes next...good work guys I'm sold!!!!
good. but the hops over the orange makes it taste a little stale/rancid. not the best combo
Tastes like alcoholic OJ in a glass! Kind of like a mimosa
Tastes like pure OJ straight out of the can. Was hoping it would open up a little more and bring out some vanilla but it just got hoppier.
Literally tastes like bitter orange juice. Didn’t really have the creamsicle twist that I was expecting.
Much more sour than expected for a milkshake IPA
Creamy and super organized flavor. Thicker consistency with a nice butter prickly hop taste at the end! Very refreshing!
Orangey, hoppy, smooth! I’m into it!
Like a hoppy OJ. Not getting much creamsicle. I liked it.
Refreshing and very orangey
Why did it taste like that
Decent, a little disappointing for Mountains Walking though.
Not my favorite of the mountains walking. They always have this odd metallic taste with their beers. Still love them, but not my favorite.
Like a melted 50/50 bar
Mountains Walking is typically spot on, but this one missed the mark. Tastes like OJ up front, but finishes with a bitter citrus flavor. Not horrible, but definitely not what I'm used to from mountains Walking
pretty much tasted like sour oj
Just did not nail the orange cream to match its piers. Almost like Sunkist mixed w a beer, there was almost no proper cream slide down the throat. Opaque has made some of my favorites but this is not one of them
Almost like drinking orange juice
I thought it tasted like a mimosa, and not like beer at all.
Pretty tasty beer but doesn't compare to what I've had from this guy's before.
not for me
Orange tastes good for a second but the ipa taste doesn’t mix well to me
Ooh i like this one it almost tasted like a Orange Mimosa with vanilla bean and citrusy notes of orange goodness, im defenently buying more of these when i get the chance to delicious.
not as sweet or thick as I was anticipating.
lots of orange up front. could use a touch more vanilla.
I think I missed the vanilla side for a creamsicle. It tasted like straight OJ with a small IPA kick on the back end.
way too sweet
I wanted to like it so much but wow the bitterness was rough. adding a little oj helped cut it
Tangy with hints of vanilla, full bodied.
Tastes like orange juice and beer with a splash of vanilla. So-so.
They make em right in Bozeman. Go to milkshake IPA
