About This Beer
First, the brewers let it slumber for 12 months in Whistley Pig Estate rye barrels along with added single origin French oak. Then they finished the beer for 6 more months in red wine barrels from Herman Story, and left the wine lees in the casks for extra punchy vinous notes.
Tasting Notes
Look for rivers of cherry and vanilla notes flowing into hints of smoke, turned earth, and plum. Pops of whiskey, and date should waft through the finish along with a faint whisper of smoke.

I love Barleywines and was excited to try more Revolution beers. They were not lying when they said this is part of the wood series. delicious beer but you are going to taste the wood barrels. Reminds me of the oak-ey cabernet sauvignon from napa from the aughts.
