DISSAPOINTED. Really gross. I was excited to try because the description sounded really tasty, but it taste nothing like what it says..... it’s gross. It has no flavor at all expect the burn of alcohol.
TERRIBLE. WAY TOO THICK AND BAD FLAVOR. Only taste is like pure alcohol.
Alcohol is overpowering and distracts from other flavors
Dark, like liquid chocolate with coconut and vanilla
This wasn’t the worst stout I’ve had but it was overly sweet and had an odd aftertaste. I couldn’t finish it and I finish almost everything.
I had to pour this one down the drain and I rarely have to do that. This is just awful.
Toasted coconut is strong but this is hella sweet
This stout was super thick and way too sweet for my taste.
Don't believe the hate. It's an excellent almond joy pastry stout
Chocolate notes and vanilla, mellow on the coconut to subtle
Great dark chocolate and vanilla flavors at the beginning. Very smooth with subtle coconut and almond undertones. Not overly sweet, but well balanced.
Great chocolate taste, very good beer but heavy!
Loved it, can’t wait to drink the other can. Great flavor, not too sweet. I will definitely buy any other beers from their collection
Felt like I was drinking the pastry batter..
Went down really smooth
Well balanced, but felt a little lacking. Very thick, but not in a bad way.
Thick and syrupy. Chocolate and coconut with a nutty, bitter finish.
Nice strong beer. Very Intense flavor.
A cold mocha black coffee hiding 12% ABV
Drank it super chilled after reading the reviews and surprised that there wasn’t an overbearing alcohol taste. In fact, quite smooth, chocolatey with a hint of coconut and texture was quite creamy. I dunno if the temperature has to do with it, but this stout is best served really chilled
This is sweet and thick and delicious, everything a pastry stout should be. If you don’t like that, why did you buy a pastry stout?
Yeah, the first taste was definitely off. However, I decided to let it warm up some more and then it became much more enjoyable. Good chocolate flavor, and for me not too sweet.
Almost too much of a heavy, syrupy flavor. Definitely didn’t pick up on the coconut either. Not a bad heavy hitter, but not great.
Great mixture of coconut/vanilla/cocoa nibs
A little too thick and boozy. Slightly too bitter/roasty on the end of the beer. However, I appreciate that this wasn't overly sweet and the coconut and almond are there but subtle. The beer is the centerpiece and the flavors are additional to it. Creamy and roasty.
definitely start this highly chilled, but do let the last third warm a bit. I enjoyed this one. coco nibs stood out and that might be what many reviews aren’t liking.
Thick, I didn’t get enough coconut taste to counter act the bitter after taste.
This was pretty terrible. Just totally bitter and not getting much flavor coming through.
Nice, well-rounded nutty/vanilla flavor
I liked it! Good flavor of chocolate, a slight sweetness and boozy at the end. Glad I got it.
fantastic but strong
great pastry flavor
Party in my mouth
This was good 👌🏻 wouldn’t have minded a little more coconut and almond tho
MUST swirl in glass prior to EVERY sip… …pulls out the almond and coconut. Cacao Nibs pulling some bitterness to round out the sweetness. Not amazing, but with patience rewarding.
a bit boozy. but overall a solid stout
it was smooth and not overpowering sweetness
chocolate, dark, balanced
very good full bodied stout.
Initial taste is chocolate, vanilla and coconut, not too sweet. Roasty, more bitter finish. Alcohol hits mid way which gives away its 12% vol. Solid, but not exceptional stout - not sure what is up with the terrible reviews.
Creamy and delicious
sweet and decadent. slap in the face with an almond joy with some booze on the end.
suuuuper salty - could have been glorious but salt bomb
After reading the comments before my first sip I was expecting an overwhelming alcohol flavor and after taste….. Which I did not find. The aroma was solid, not too sweet, certainly smells like a pastry. Really smooth going down. Would buy again.
