Elder Pine Brewing & Blending
A Note on This Beer
Looks like they did it again! After being named one of USA Today’s Top 10 New Breweries of 2020, Elder Pine released another mind-blowing brew!
Eyeing Noble Contessa, it looked like a classic, clean Lager — just what I needed to wash down this slice of pepperoni pizza.
But, after tasting its thirst quenching complexity, I had to investigate what went into this thing to make the flavors pop so much more than I’d anticipated. And then, I had to test how well it’d go with my buffalo wings, too!
Apparently, the brewers hopped and dry-hopped it exclusively with a brand new American hop called Contessa. It’s reminiscent of Euro Noble Hops but with U.S.A. flair: it tastes like juicy pear and softly sweetened green tea.
Oh, and it quelled the spice of those wings, no problem!
Lager fans, this is one of the tastiest new takes on the style from one of the best new breweries — I wouldn’t miss it!

A very elegant lager, with a noble hop flavor that is delicate and elegant and not too bitter or too brash. My one quibble is the bitter finish so common in oat lagers – what do oats add to lagers other than a bad aftertaste?
Can definitely taste the notes of green tea. Good lager
It may be the perfect lager
Crisp and light lager. Flavor develops really nice floral notes and finishes with biscuit and malt. Refreshing!
Crisp, clean, and very refreshing. Very good lager
Crisp and refreshing!
Green tea aroma, crisp taste with hint of pear.
Very light and refreshing. Could drink this all day.
Light and crisp with notes of green tea and pears. Nice light malty taste at the end.
Crisp and delicious
