A Note on This Beer
Double, double, toil and trouble. Barrels age, fermenters bubble!
Or so goes the song of the Night Witch, today’s 12.2% ABV Imperial Stout concoction!
Just one sip, and you’ll think it must’ve been brewed with some sort of magic. And in a way, it was! The clever craftsmen at Lupulin boiled this brew overnight to build complex, chocolatey-nutty flavors. Then, they aged the Stout base for 20 months in Knob Creek Bourbon barrels to impart lush notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak.
It’s absolutely enchanting Lupulin locals — the craft fans lucky enough to try this limited release have given it an impressive 4.22 Untappd rating!
And though it is a powerful potion, its namesake witches aren’t the ones you may be thinking…
Night Witch was actually crafted in honor of brave (and very rad) female pilots who flew combat missions for the Soviet Union in WWII, only permitted to fly in outdated, wooden bi-planes at night. They shut off their engines to fly silently, like witches on broomsticks, earning them the nickname "Night Witches" from their German enemies.
