Austin Brothers Beer Company
A Note on This Beer
Austin Brothers Beer Co. brewed today’s Murk Man IPA with 100% Trident, a new specialized hop blend!
Which is an even bigger deal than it sounds. We’ve only managed to spot a few other IPAs with Trident, and none boast a full hop bill of it.
This rare blend is about as new as hop mixes come — hop farmers introduced it to the brewing world in January!
Only a tiny handful of brewers across the U.S. have managed to get their hands on it. If you’d rather wait until Trident is more common in craft or don’t want a sneak preview of a new wave of IPAs, go ahead and stop reading.
Rather than being limited to the aromatics of a single hop, this Yakima Valley blend comes from three different Pacific Northwest varieties! While the exact varieties are a secret, the Trident blend is said to possess a potent, “fruity, citrus, tropical, passion fruit hop-forward punch to the nose” and to “unleash a tidal wave of flavor” in every sip.
And Murk Man ups the juice ante even further. This Triple NE-style IPA gushes with tropicality and a silky, almost creamy body. And, it shockingly clocks in at 10.3% ABV!
So yeah, if you don’t want an early taste of the hops poised to capture the hearts of all who taste them, go ahead and pass this one up. Otherwise, better jump on it fast.

Refreshing and easy to drink. Also nice to see some MI beers.
So good that I’ll be half way done and realize that there’s a 10% looming in there. Whoooops
I love the brewery ( their pilseners are award winning ) . This one is just OK
Did not care for this. Bitterness was there, but it was almost too overpowering and wiped out any taste.
Surprising & tastyAF! It's sweet without being too sweet and that 10.3% abv sneaks up on you. I'd buy this again
Trident will be interesting when eventually combined with other hops
It’s more drinkable than it smells, pulling a lot more alcohol than hops off this. Would likely be better with a couple points knocked off the ABV. Probably drink the other ones from the can.
Wow. The best Imperial IPA I’ve ever had. Smooth with an amazing blend of tropical flavors and dankness. Each sip was delicious. Easy to forget it has an 10.3% ABV.
Daily Corona battle. Apparently new hop blend version. Earthy, juicy, touch of fruity balance.
Very enjoyable for 10+
