A Note on This Beer
The masters at Jester King are VERY particular about how they craft their beers. For one, they don’t shy away from time-consuming brew methods — they lagered Munich Style Helles for five whole weeks prior to canning!
And, that’s just scratching the surface.
To extract all the crisp layers of fresh bread crust and honeysuckle they could, the brewers used a highly-concentrated, single-decoction mash of Pilsner malts grown locally in Texas. Then, they kettle hopped the brew with Hallertauer Magnum, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh, and Czech Saaz for nuances of florals, citrus rind, and earth.
Next, they lagered the whole thing in horizontal tanks! This is an old-world method that takes pressure off the yeast and really allows the brew to achieve a clean, sippable body.
The finished result is one beautiful Helles-style Lagerbier, with an elegant balance of refreshing malt and hop flavors dancing throughout its crushable body. It’s like Texas and German terrior melded into one!
