A Note on This Beer
The folks at Barrier Brewing don’t play it safe, and we’re glad they don’t.
They won the Best Brew in New York Competition and landed a spot on Forbes’ Best New York City Breweries for big, boldly flavorful brews like today’s Morticia Imperial Stout.
And for the most recent vintage, Barrier goes bigger and bolder than ever! They amp up 2019 Morticia with Bourbon-soaked Oak Spirals and a decadent blend of Sumatra and Ethiopian roast coffee.
And unlike the original Morticia recipe (which didn’t break double digits on the booze spectrum), THIS version comes wrapped in a 10.1% ABV!
Barrier fans everywhere seem to agree: the old Morticia was a deeply chocolatey, slightly hopped dark sipper, but NEW Morticia is her stronger, sexier, mocha-espresso layered sister!
Let each sip linger and rich layers of smoky bourbon and charred oak emerge between the cacao and coffee. You feel that boozy heat, but only for a second. Then you’re totally immersed in bittersweet, dark chocolate paradise.
You’ll also see why craft connoisseurs from Manhattan and beyond regularly schlep out an hour or longer to Barrier’s Long Island taproom for sips.
Fortunately for you, you don’t need to make the same trek. We’ll bring this boozy Dark beauty right to your doorstep so you can have your own cozy weekend with Morticia right at home!
The 2019 vintage is too new for ratings!
