January 23rd's a GREAT day for Chicagoland craft fans — that’s when Revolution Brewing released the grand finale of their 2025-26 Deep Wood season. 

It featured some seriously impressive brews, including today’s Mineshaft Gap (2026). The beer world hasn’t seen a new variant of this fan-favorite Barleywine since way back in 2020, and we couldn’t be more excited for its return! 

After 12 long months luxuriating in exquisite Cognac barrels, we’re expecting a deep cask character to permeate every sip. 

Look forward to opulent notes of brandy and oak weaving through rich fig and caramel tones. Brown sugar and Raisinet nuances should carry underneath, leading to an ultra-smooth finish that masterfully cloaks 12.8% ABV.
