About This Beer

For ¡La Sopresa! Might Meets Right (2021), the brewers at Temperance Beer improved on Mexican hot chocolate by introducing a little barrel to the recipe — High West bourbon and rye barrels! For that authentic, spicy, cocoa flavor, they loaded this batch with roasted cacao nibs, espresso powder, vanilla beans, toasted Korintje cinnamon, and three types of chiles — ancho, arbol, and New Mexico.

Tasting Notes

Luscious currents of a dark chocolate and cinnamon course through every sip. Bright flairs of chili heat tickle the tongue mellowed by notes of vanilla oak and caramelized rye. Any sign of the bold 12.5% ABV has completely sizzled away.

This is a nice stout. I could pick up the cacao and cinnamon in the 1st taste. The the chiles taste surprised me as I swallowed it down.

I really liked the vanilla cinnamon taste of this one but it's too spicy for me if you like spice though you probably like this beer

Too spicy, otherwise I would've rated much higher. The more you drink, the easier it is to handle the chiles

Had a spiciness that lingered and dominated the other flavors in my opinion. Only other flavor I got was a bit of coffee.
