Thinner mouthfeel than you’d expect from the style. Cinnamon and chiles a bit overpowering but a decent Mexican hot chocolate stout

Nothing but heat.

Taste is cocoa, vanilla, pecan, molasses, biscotti, cinnamon, capsaicin, oak, and bourbon. Slow drinking, spicy, rich and flavorful. Very good if you like chili beer. The spice is pretty strong but drinkable and balances out the richness of the beer. Definitely worth trying although not for everyone.

Rich. Spicy. Dark. Great stout.

Very tasty chocolate flavor up front with well blended bourbon notes. Quite a kick from the trio of peppers at the end that tingles the lips and burns the throat. Reducing the heat would allow the other flavors to shine.

Slightly too much spice and tone down the alcohol and this would be perfect

Really bitter, too much spice for me. Smells like wine a little bit.

It could have been better. Just not a got blend of tastes vs. ABV. Maybe they need to be shaken. Not sure.

Just the right balance of, well, everything.

Unfortunately this missed the mark. The body is way too thin and the carbonation was way off.

Thinner than most BA stouts, all the pepper is right in your face. Pretty good Molé flavor lingers between sips. My cans had good carbonation, at least what I'd expect from a strong BA stout.

The heat from the chiles at the end distract you from the 14% booziness of this stout. Definitely like Mexican hot chocolate with a shot of bourbon in it.

They threw everything in this, all the spices in the cabinet they could find, the left over couch syrup, then made it super alcoholy. I had high hopes, just way too many ideas that needed to be toned way back.

A little too much heat for my liking

Mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, I respect and appreciate the almost mole sauce flavor profile with the lovely contrast of the chili peppers and chocolate. That said, it's potent and even a bit abrasive. Definitely more of a sipper. 1.5 Thumbs Up!

Good, but not nearly as smooth as other Mexican Hot Chocolate stouts I’ve had. I loved the peppery flavor, but it lingered and burned.

Nicely done. The vanilla gives way to chile heat, with cacao present throughout. The spiciness heat is a bit too much at the end, and lingers. With some adjustments, this could be excellent.

Pepper and cinnamon are very aggressive.

I tend to shy away from chile stouts based on so many of them not being good. Too much chile and your stout tastes like cheap hot sauce. This beer finds an awesome balance. Tongue taste of vanilla and cinnamon, throat feel of the pepper. A big gulp will definitely get you feeling sweaty. I would absolutely enjoy this beer again.

Missed the target on this one. Carbonation was off, chile drowned out almost any other flavor besides maybe some cinnamon. Couldn't taste the original barrel-aged stout flavors at all.
