Super heavy chocolate flavor. Very silky. Loved every sip.
Very intense dark flavors and heavily roasted malt aromas. Initially the flavors that come to mind are very toasted graham crackers and blackstrap molasses. Cocoa nibs follow immediately afterwards. The flavors stay for a pleasantly appropriate amount of time. Not too much marshmallow in this, but it is a touch creamy.
A little nutty, marshmallow is subtle. It’s pretty sweet which giving the size of the can makes drinking it a little daunting. But the flavor is rich and not like anything I’ve ever had so I’d definitely recommend it to any stout fan.
Wish it was barrel aged!
This was definitely a tasty drink. For some reason it just didn’t stand out to me. Maybe it’s because I’m not a huge consumer of rocky road ice cream. This is a really good stout and with the size of the can and the ABV it will really leave you satisfied, but I’m unsure if I will reorder.
Good balance of flavors. A touch bitter for my taste though. Only reason I didn't rate higher
Nice combination of sweetness from the marshmallow with the bitterness of the black walnut. The cocoa nibs are not very noticeable.
Very smooth, full bodied, nice aromatics.
So indescribably good! A big hit
Lovely rich goodness
Strong taste of marshmallows and nuts, very smooth finish with little to no bite. Decently sweet
Pleasantly reminiscent of the ice cream.
Really delicious. Super heavy. Absolutely deserving of 5 stars.
Taste like a cascade of semi sweet dark chocolate with a smack of marshmallow at the end to suffice my sweet tooth.
Delicious! Smooth with nice chocolate and nutty tones, def would order again
Legit tastes like rocky road ice cream. I need more of this in my life.
Great sharable pastry, really does have a rocky road taste.
Look: Dark brown, almost black. Foamy brown two finger head that slowly disappeared but hung onto the side of the glass. Smell: Big chocolate marshmallow ice cream up front, followed by walnut and boozy hints. Feel: Medium to full bodied feel, slight carbonation tickle. Taste: Definitely tastes like an imperial, but you get a nice mixture of walnut and light chocolate marshmallow ice cream. The chocolate taste is more like cocoa nibs and less like sweet milk chocolate that comes through in the smell. Like a boozy rocky road sundae. As it warms the flavors are even nicer and it tastes more and more like a sundae! Bren is a HUGE chocolate marshmallow ice cream fan so this was her pick. If you like imperial dessert beers this one is definitely worth trying. We were hesitant because all of the Junkyard brews we have had have been a bit musty tasting. This one is a pleasant surprise! I think we need to go finish this with some chocolate brownies... Cheers!
Like a pecan rum brownie, so good
Very smooth! The cocoa nibs and black walnut really shine through on each sip
Fantastic! This is one of my favorites, I grab a can or 2 every time it comes up. It's a strong one, but super smooth to drink.
For me this is a "pastry" stout done right. It tastes like beer and not just a sugary diabetes bomb. It comes off like a walnut fudge brownie but at the same time the base imperial stout has a nice roasty back bone which balances the sweetness. The marshmallow flavour is minimal and is really just a back note. Over all really well balanced.
Taste like rocky road! Heavy. Had a headache in the morning after drinking whole can.
Velvety smooth, great marshmallow and chocolate flavor
Marshmallow chocolatness rounded off with nutty flavor
Rocky road in stout form. Wish I got more of these. Thick and delicious . Taste all the rocky road flavors.
Chocolate, biscuit flavors...dark, not thick but not thin either. Stout, robust, solid...
ROCKY ROAD ALL DAY
Soooo damn good
Wonderful dessert stout, so true to the name, it’s ice cream in a beer
This was a great stout. Very good
As good as any pastry stout. Must get.
Every flavor was present and deliiiicious.
Nice s’more flavor! Even tasted the graham cracker. Chocolate’s almost smoky.
Stouts always look so good. But not my style.
Thicc boi that tastes like straight up melted rocky road ice cream
Should’ve gotten way more cans!!!
Kind of a mess of flavors
My favorite chocolate stout out of all the ones I sampled last month, smooth, and super dark, but still had a complex flavor. One 100% buy this one again
Dark, Rocky Road Ice Cream sniffs, layered, smooth, Milk Chocolate, creamy, sweet Marshmallows, and nutty Walnuts.
Very rich dessert beer. Very reminiscent of the rocky road ice cream it is named after. Notes of chocolate and marshmallow
Typical stout. Good
So, so close. But just not quite a great beer. Needed some kind of flavor boost; some kind of kick to get it over the weak edge
Roasted barley and cocoa nibs aroma, rich mouthfeel, cocoa nibs & toasted black walnuts taste with sweet & creamy marshmallow notes, the 12% ABV is apparent throughout, tastes like an adult version of Rocky Road Ice Cream.
Tastes just like rocky road!
Divine bliss in a can. Get a hint of coconut at the end of it.
Solid stout. Great chocolate flavor and the marshmallow gives it a smooth texture. Can't believe it's 11.6%. Hidden quite well.
Best stout ive had to date, chocolate and marshmellow tones. Smooth as all get out! Cant believe is 11.6abv
Love the mouthfeel
Taste is a little off
Thicc, sweet and dark. Bring a friend!
Amazing flavors, you can legit taste the different parts of the rocky road.
Thick rich chocolate with sweet marshmallow and walnut taste, not to mention the boozy finish. Nice beer to sip and enjoy.
Perfect fireside companion. I really enjoy the dry finish.
Could be better
True to taste! One of the best Rocky Road stouts I've had. Being a pastry stout, it is on the sweet side, so I'd suggest sharing the can or pairing it with a biscotti or some sort of dessert/biscuit that is kind of blan to help with the sweetness.
Gross. Dumped it. Had high hopes
Wish I shared this w someone. Heavy. Tasty
Adjuncts didn’t pop. Was a bit disappointed by this one
Chocolate ice cream in a can
As advertised. Definitely a pastry stout. Would recommend splitting with somebody
Very sorry this was just an average not so good beer, no marshmallow, chocolate or walnuts.
Beer was a bit to thin for me. I was hoping for more marshmallow.
Bit too chocolatey
a bit more nutty and chocolatey the second go around
I think this one missed the mark as far as Rocky Road goes but it wasn’t bad tasting at all.
Tastes exactly how it states! Best beer I've had in a awhile and the only regret I have is that didn't get more!
Really good rocky road
Flavors are there, but too strong for my pallet. Found it difficult to drink the whole can and not be overwhelmed with all the flavors.
The coco mixing with what detect as black walnut is perfectly sweet and bitter. Reminds me of the countless bowls of RR I crushed as a kid (and still do).
Very rich and thick, with chocolate, marshmallow and coffee flavours
Is something wrong with my can? I am not tasting the flavors described. It is far more subtle than suggested.
Much too sweet
Now this one I like! Wish I could find a way to order more than just when it shows up here. The amount of chocolate taste has been the best so far out of the other stouts I’ve tried. It’s super smooth. Highly recommend that you buy one!
A good stout but I’ve much better, flavors and aftertaste are harsh and not very smooth.
Remarkably matches the rocky road flavor. Great mouthfeel but may be a tad too sweet for some.
sweet but not overly so, nice flavors
I should have ordered 2 cans like I do everything else. Don’t know if something was off on the other peoples who rated this below a 3.50? Mine was great, boozy with the right hint of chocolate and what I would describe as walnut flavor. Well done
This lives up to exactly what it's described as. Rocky road all the way, silky, balanced, hearty and the perfect size for sharing!
Dark, chocolate, marshmallow, and toasty flavor. Very well done.
chocolate ice cream chewy mouthfeel from the marshmallow and a nutty finish. sweet sticky goodness.
all the adjuncts are there
you can taste the rocky road, and not heavy in the coffee, really good
