A Note on This Beer
Sparking electricity, bubbling beakers, and maniacal laughter. That’s how I picture the brewhouse at New York’s Equilibrium Brewery.
Of course, it’s not like that at all — their taproom space is rustic and warm, like a cozy cabin in the woods. But, co-founder and head brewer Pete Oates can still act like a mad scientist when he brings a new batch of this soft-bodied, tropically fruity MC2 DIPA to life!
After all, he is an actual scientist. He has a Ph.D. from MIT to prove it, too.
Before releasing his first brew to the public back in 2017, Pete spent years as an engineer, working to bring clean water to folks all over the world. When he finally turned his big brain and vast knowledge to brewing, magic happened — although Pete would call it science. Top secret science, because he won’t give up the recipe for this 97/100 BA-rated fan favorite!
I can tell you this, though: it tastes like Pete and his team took some space-age hybrid of grapefruit and tangerine and blended it with pineapple, mango, and a dollop of passionfruit. In short, it’s so tropically delicious you might want to sip it from a coconut shell.
