The Northwest Barrel-Aging specialists at E9 go the extra mile in every step of the process. That’s how they earned Gold and Silver in the Mixed Culture category at the 2019 Washington Beer Awards!
First, in all of their fruited Wild Ales and Sours — including today’s Mano-A-Mano — the brewery uses whole fruit sourced from local farms. In this one: red raspberries from Sterino Farms and Bing cherries from Diamondback Acres.
Next, they barrel-age every Sour blend for up to 3 years!
E9’s process doesn’t end there; the brewery sit these Sours on the fruit for up to another 2 months!
They’re not even finished: then, they bottle conditions each Fruited BA Sour for 2 to 4 months for spritzy carbonation and added tang
As you can see the brewery put in a lot of time in this fruity Sour. So we urge you to take your time, and savor the deep berry flavor and wild funk nuances that open up as you sip.
